Perequê Beach

Perequê Beach is a coastal strand in Guarujá stretching roughly 2.4 kilometers and defined by an active fishing village along its shore. The sandy beach features moored boats and simple stalls where locally caught seafood is sold to visitors and locals alike.

The name comes from the Tupi language and refers to a small river where fish enter during high tide to feed and spawn. This indigenous term reflects the location's deep roots in fishing and maritime activity.

The beach remains a working fishing community where locals maintain boats and continue traditional fishing practices visible to visitors. Daily maritime activities shape how the space is used and felt by those who walk through it.

The beach sits along the SP-61 highway between Guarujá and Bertioga with multiple food stands serving regional seafood dishes. Wear comfortable shoes for walking among boats and stalls, and visit during daylight hours when fishing activity is most visible.

A small waterfall flows directly into the ocean on the left side of the beach, creating a natural freshwater point visitors rarely notice. The right side meanwhile offers surfing conditions with waves around one meter high.
