Mosteiro de São Bento, Benedictine abbey in Sé District, São Paulo, Brazil.

The monastery building features Neo-Romanesque architecture with detailed frescoes, carved oak columns, and a monumental organ containing over 6,000 pipes.

Founded in 1598 by Friar Dom Mauro Teixeira, the monastery received its land grant from Captain-Major Jorge Correia between the Anhangabaú and Tamanduateí rivers.

The monastery maintains a collection of 100,000 books in its library, including rare manuscripts that document centuries of Brazilian religious and academic history.

Visitors can attend daily masses at 7 AM and 1 PM on weekdays, while Sunday services are held at 8 AM and 10 AM with Gregorian chants.

The monastery clock, installed in 1921, features a carillon with six tuned bells and was once considered the most precise timekeeper in São Paulo.
