Mirante do Vale, Commercial skyscraper in Central Zone of São Paulo, Brazil.
Mirante do Vale is a commercial skyscraper in São Paulo's central area, rising 170 meters with 51 floors and modern concrete facades. The building contains multiple elevators serving its office and commercial spaces throughout its height.
Construction began in 1960 under engineer Waldomiro Zarzur and architect Aron Kogan, with completion in 1966. For decades, it stood as one of Brazil's tallest structures, defining the city's skyline during that era.
The building remained the highest structure in Brazil for 48 years until 2014, marking its position in São Paulo's architectural identity.
The building can be entered from three different points on Prestes Maia Avenue, Pedro Lessa Square, and Brigadeiro Tobias Street. Depending on where you are in the city, one entrance may be more convenient than the others.
The 42nd floor houses Sampa Sky, an observation deck with glass-bottom cabins extending 150 meters above the city streets. The transparent floor provides an unusual sensation when looking straight down at the urban landscape below.
