The church features a monumental organ, stained glass windows, pulpits, and detailed artistic decorations throughout its interior spaces.
Built between 1904 and 1913, this church replaced the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição from 1720 at the top of Anhangabaú Valley.
From 1930 to 1954, while São Paulo Cathedral was under construction, this church served as the city's temporary cathedral.
The church opens daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and conducts regular masses at 30 Rua Santa Ifigênia street.
Austrian architect Johann Lorenz Madein designed this structure, combining Neo-Romanesque architecture with Gothic Revival elements.
