Casarão Marieta Teixeira de Carvalho is a two-storey brick mansion with a basement at Rua Florêncio de Abreu 111, built in 1878 by an Italian master builder. Its entrance is through a side setback that once held a garden, and the facade carries the year 1884. It is the last house in taipa francesa in São Paulo.

The mansion was constructed in 1878 for Senator Carlos Teixeira de Carvalho and later passed to his daughter Marieta, who kept it until 1975. The long family ownership shaped the building's condition and role in the neighborhood over more than a century.

The house is named after Marieta Teixeira de Carvalho, who sold the property to the Mosteiro de São Bento in 1968 but kept living there until her death in 1975 at age 92. The gate rails still bear marks left by cart wheels, and the basement held the old slave quarters.

The building currently functions as a storage facility for São Bento Monastery and requires substantial restoration work on its exterior and interior features. Visitors should expect limited access to the interior since the structure remains in use by the monastery.

The mansion stands out as one of the earliest examples of brick construction techniques in São Paulo, demonstrating how European building methods were adapted to the local context. This construction approach set a precedent for later buildings that followed similar methods.
