The Casarao Marieta Teixeira de Carvalho occupies a prominent location on Florencio de Abreu Street, featuring classical architectural elements and a brick construction design.
Built in 1878, the mansion belonged to Senator Carlos Teixeira de Carvalho before passing to his daughter Marieta, who maintained the property until 1975.
The building includes former slave quarters in its basement, reflecting the social structure of nineteenth-century Brazilian urban residences.
The structure currently serves as a storage facility for the São Bento Monastery and requires significant restoration work to preserve its architectural elements.
This mansion represents one of the earliest examples of brick construction techniques in São Paulo, incorporating Italian architectural influences in its design.
