The building displays eclectic architectural features with a combination of styles, including brick masonry walls, clay tiles, and wooden doors with corrugated iron.
The construction began on December 19, 1932, and architects José Viandana, Ítalo Catalani, and Ricieri Pinotti completed the building in June 1934.
The structure emerged from merging the Italian-Brazilian Mutual Aid Society and the Workers' Center Mutual Aid in 1925, serving the Italian immigrant community.
The building now functions as a commercial and philanthropic center, providing services for elderly citizens and hosting various community events.
The noble hall on the upper floor has maintained its original dance and celebration functions, featured in the 2008 film 'Chega de Saudade'.
