Conjunto dos Dominicanos

Conjunto dos Dominicanos is an eclectic building distinguished by a 34-meter stone tower featuring diamond-patterned windows and a design that brings natural light into interior spaces. The structure combines various architectural approaches that work together to define its character.

Dominican friars led by Friar Martinho Bennet acquired a former family estate in 1938 to establish a center for theological studies. The site became an important location for religious education and training.

The place served as a center for religious discussions and philosophical exchanges among its members and visitors from different backgrounds. People gathered here to engage in dialogue about faith and social matters.

The building is located on Rua Caiubí in the Perdizes District and was officially protected in 1988. Visitors should note that the site remains in active use, so access times may be limited.

During the 1960s military dictatorship, the building sheltered activists fleeing persecution and became a refuge during a repressive period. This hidden history adds another layer of meaning to the place today.
