Abricó Beach, Naturist beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Abricó Beach is a nude beach stretching about 250 meters along the coast with golden sand and rocky outcrops on either side. The water is clear and the shoreline is naturally bordered by large stones that create a defined setting.
The beach gained official naturist status through city legislation in the 1990s as the first urban nude beach in Rio de Janeiro. This recognition established it as a legitimate gathering place for the naturist community.
The beach draws people from different backgrounds who share an interest in naturism and have developed their own social norms. Visitors who come here understand and respect these unwritten rules that shape how the space feels and functions.
To reach the beach, take the metro to Jardim Oceânico station and then arrange further transportation to the Recreio area. Be aware that cellular coverage is limited except for the TIM network.
Local supervisors patrol the beach on weekends to maintain the naturist-only policy. There is just a single refreshment stand, which keeps the place simple and unhurried.
