The building features neoclassical architectural elements with three sections on Rio Branco Avenue and five sections along Halfeld Street.
Originally constructed in 1918 by architect Rafael Arcuri, the building served as the city hall until 1997 when operations moved to a new location.
The Municipal Palace contains the João Carriço Amphitheater, which offers free film screenings and cultural events to the local community.
Located at 2234 Barão do Rio Branco Avenue, the structure houses various administrative departments and the Cultural Foundation Alfredo Ferreira Lage.
The building incorporates Doric columns flanking its main entrance and includes an embedded clock protected by a balustrade in its interior.
