Iglesia del Carmen, Catholic church in La Paz, Bolivia.
The stone structure features a Baroque facade with smooth columns and capitals adorned with two rows of acanthus leaf carvings at its entrance.
The construction started in 1717 on land granted by Sebastian Pedro Arraya and reached completion by the end of the eighteenth century.
The church holds an annual procession on July 16th, during which the statue of the Virgin of Carmen travels from the cathedral to this location.
The building contains three altarpieces, with the central one displaying simple decorations while the side ones feature ornamental columns and detailed craftsmanship.
The church houses a silver tabernacle dating from the late seventeenth century, predating the building itself by several decades.
