Brasilândia de Minas, Administrative municipality in central Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Brasilândia de Minas is a municipality in central Minas Gerais located at about 520 meters elevation. The surrounding landscape consists of agricultural areas where soybeans, corn, manioc, beans, and rice are grown across numerous rural properties.
The settlement began in the early 1800s on lands originally owned by Joaquina do Pompeu, which later passed to English ownership. Following major settlement expansion in the 1950s, the territory was officially established as a municipality in 1995.
The population of Brasilândia de Minas maintains agricultural traditions through extensive cultivation of soybeans, corn, manioc, beans, and rice across 341 local farms.
The area is accessible by the MG-181 paved road, which connects to regional highways and neighboring towns. Several clinics in the municipality provide basic healthcare services to residents and visitors.
A caravan of settlers from Pirapora arrived in 1952 to establish new agricultural communities with allocated plots and livestock. This organized settlement initiative shaped the region's early development in a way that few visitors are aware of.
