Museu das Bandeiras

The Museu das Bandeiras occupies a masonry building of 225 square meters, displaying over 500 historical objects within its colonial architecture walls.

Built in 1766 as a chamber and prison in Vila Boa de Goyaz, the structure was transformed into a museum in 1954 to preserve regional history.

The museum collection includes 573 pieces representing Portuguese, Indigenous, and Black presence through sacred art, furniture, clothing, weapons, and traditional tools.

Located in the Historical Center of Goiás, the museum occupies a total area of 1060 square meters and operates as a federal institution.

The building holds three distinct designations: UNESCO World Heritage status, IPHAN heritage listing, and municipal protection since 1996.
