The Palazzo degli Sport is a sports palace in Salvador located at Castro Alves Square, housing multiple national sports federations under one roof. The building sits between other historic structures and marks the entrance to Rua Chile street with its distinctive facade.

The building opened in 1935, replacing the Teatro São João, Brazil's first opera house that had been destroyed by fire. This construction marked a shift in how the city used this important plaza in Salvador's center.

The name comes from the twenty-five sports federations housed here, among them table tennis, boxing, athletics, basketball, capoeira, football and futsal. The building on Castro Alves Square, paired with the former A Tarde headquarters, formed the colonial "Portas de Santa Luzia" at the entrance to Rua Chile.

The building faces Castro Alves Square at the entrance to Rua Chile, beside the former A Tarde headquarters, now the Hotel Fasano. The two facades frame the old "Portas de Santa Luzia" passage. It now houses 25 sports federations, so access to the interior depends on the entities based there rather than on regular visiting hours.

The building stands at a location that was known by Portuguese colonizers as a gateway to the old city. This historic threshold makes the site an important point connecting old and new Salvador.
