The Museu do Recôncavo Wanderley Pinho occupies the casa-grande of the former Engenho Freguesia in Caboto, Candeias, Bahia. The four-story building has 55 rooms and a chapel, and is one of the few Recôncavo buildings developed around two courtyards, onto which rooms, halls and alcoves open. Its collection holds more than 200 pieces made since the 17th century, including clothing, vestments, paintings, ceramics, decorative objects and furniture.

The building began as Engenho Freguesia sugar mill in 1760, functioning as a productive facility for over one and a half centuries. It was later transformed into a museum to preserve the region's heritage.

The collection displays everyday objects from past residents, including clothing, religious garments, paintings, and furniture from different periods. Visitors can see how people once lived and arranged their spaces here.

The museum occupies the old Engenho Freguesia in the Caboto district of Candeias, Bahia. The four-story house has 55 rooms and a chapel, and its original furniture is held at the Palácio da Aclamação in Salvador. A restoration begun in 2009 was budgeted at R$ 9 million, and the sugar factory building did not survive the delays.

The mansion features an eight-sided roof and a courtyard with a columned gallery, an unusual architectural detail for sugar plantations of that era. This distinctive design makes it a notable example of colonial architecture in the region.
