Museu do Recôncavo Wanderley Pinho

The Museu do Recôncavo Wanderley Pinho is an art museum housed in a four-story mansion with 55 rooms and a chapel, located along Todos os Santos Bay. The building displays collections of artworks, ceramics, and decorative pieces spanning different time periods.

The building began as Engenho Freguesia sugar mill in 1760, functioning as a productive facility for over one and a half centuries. It was later transformed into a museum to preserve the region's heritage.

The collection displays everyday objects from past residents, including clothing, religious garments, paintings, and furniture from different periods. Visitors can see how people once lived and arranged their spaces here.

The museum is situated in the Enseada de Caboto area along Via Matoim and is easily accessible. Visitors should check in advance about guided tours or special hours, as the facility undergoes periodic maintenance closures.

The mansion features an eight-sided roof and a courtyard with a columned gallery, an unusual architectural detail for sugar plantations of that era. This distinctive design makes it a notable example of colonial architecture in the region.
