Dunas de Marapé is a beach in Jequiá da Praia where the dark waters of the Jequiá lagoon meet the Atlantic Ocean. Its white sand dunes are bordered by mangroves and remnants of Atlantic Forest. The beach lies about 60 km from Maceió.

This region was part of São Miguel dos Campos until 1998, when Jequiá da Praia became an independent municipality. The separation brought local governance and development directly to the area.

Local fishing communities practice traditional crab catching in the mangroves, and visitors can observe these age-old methods during their time here. The work reflects how people have lived off this land for generations.

Dunas de Marapé lies about 60 km from Maceió, in Jequiá da Praia, Alagoas. The Jequiá River, bordered by mangroves, meets the Atlantic here, so the dark lagoon water and the ocean water sit side by side. The beach is a protected area: collecting shells and disturbing the fauna and flora are not allowed. Follow the lifeguards' instructions when swimming.
