Novo Repartimento, Municipality in southeastern Pará, Brazil.
Novo Repartimento is a municipality in southeastern Pará and consists of several small settlements scattered across forested land. The town serves as an administrative center for the surrounding rural communities and their local activities.
The settlement grew in the 1970s near Repartimento River during construction of highway BR-422 and became an official municipality in 1991. Its founding was closely tied to the region's infrastructure development.
The municipality maintains four districts where 90 percent of residents live in rural areas, focusing on agricultural activities and plant extractivism.
The area is easy to navigate since it follows the main highway BR-422 connecting the settlements. Visitors should expect unpaved roads and simple local amenities typical of rural communities.
The entire original settlement was relocated due to flooding risks from the Tucuruí dam construction, creating a new location. This relocation shaped the town's history and relationship with the region's water infrastructure.
