In 1986, House Number 07 and its historical collection were declared Public Utility Property and transformed into the City Museum of Alcântara.
The museum exhibits the domestic routines and traditions of 19th-century rural aristocracy through furniture, ceramics, tiles, and personal belongings.
Located at Praça Gomes de Castro in central Alcântara, the museum facility is currently closed for renovation and structural improvements.
The museum occupies a colonial mansion that belonged to the Viveiros family, part of a three-building complex at Praça Gomes de Castro.
