Praia de Cotovelo

Praia de Cotovelo is an Atlantic beach with white sand and cliffs that line the coast. The water is clear and blue, with the geological formations maintaining a natural character throughout.

Development here occurred later than at neighboring beaches, allowing the area to retain its natural character during coastal expansion in Rio Grande do Norte. This late growth meant fewer major changes compared to other coastal zones.

Local people and visitors gather at beachfront establishments to enjoy regional dishes, including fresh seafood and traditional northeastern Brazilian food. These casual spots reflect the laid-back coastal lifestyle without excessive formality.

Access is via the RN-063 highway, and facilities are limited, though the area maintains its natural state. Plan for basic amenities and allow time to explore the coastline.

Natural pools form between the cliffs during low tide, creating protected swimming areas where small marine creatures can be observed. These temporary basins appear and disappear with the tides, offering different experiences each day.
