The White Lady, Rock art site in Brandberg Mountain, Namibia
The White Lady painting occupies a panel measuring 5.5 meters by 1.5 meters within Maack Shelter, featuring multiple human figures and oryx depictions.
German explorer Reinhard Maack discovered the rock paintings in 1918 during his geological survey of the Brandberg mountain region.
The central figure holds a bow and vessel, suggesting the artwork represents a ritual performance connected to San hunter-gatherer traditions.
Visitors must complete a 45-minute hike through the Tsisab gorge accompanied by certified guides to reach the archaeological site.
The main figure measures 39.5 by 29 centimeters and displays white-colored limbs created using ochre, charcoal, and natural binding agents.
