The temple construction began with a groundbreaking ceremony on April 9, 2016, and Elder Ronald A. Rasband conducted its dedication on February 16, 2020.
The interior design incorporates Sapele mahogany woodwork and Italian marble flooring that reflects traditional African tribal geometric patterns throughout the building.
Located at 2 Izinga Drive in Umhlanga, the temple includes patron housing facilities and offers services in multiple languages for diverse congregations.
The temple grounds contain over 800 trees, including king palms and coral trees, creating landscaped gardens that complement the coastal surroundings.
