Lomami is a province in central Democratic Republic of the Congo with Kabinda as its capital and multiple administrative districts. The region covers a large area and is home to several communities spread across its territories.
History
The province was created in 2015 during a major administrative reorganization in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Before then, it was part of the larger Kasai-Oriental region.
Culture
The Songye, Luba, and Kanyok peoples live throughout the province, each maintaining their own languages and local traditions in their communities. You can observe these different cultural practices in village life and at local markets.
