Our Lady of La Salette Cathedral, Antsirabé, Catholic cathedral in Antsirabé, Madagascar
Our Lady of La Salette Cathedral features a 45-meter bell tower and spans 60 meters in length, with a width of 16.77 meters and height of 14 meters.
The cathedral's construction began in January 1925 after Father Dupuy established a small clay church, and the official dedication took place on September 19, 1931.
The cathedral hosts annual pilgrimages every September 19th for the feast day of Our Lady of La Salette, drawing Catholic faithful from across Madagascar.
Weekly masses occur at the cathedral every Sunday morning at 6:30 and 9:00, providing regular worship opportunities for the local Catholic community.
Father Joseph Michaud served as both the architect and master builder of this cathedral, which became the main church of Antsirabé Diocese in 1921.
