Nosy Alañaña Light, Maritime beacon in Toamasina Province, Madagascar.

The concrete octagonal tower rises to 60 meters with a black lantern and gallery, making it the tallest lighthouse in Africa.

The lighthouse began its operation in 1933 to improve maritime safety along Madagascar's eastern coastline and protect ships navigating through local waters.

Local fishing communities rely on this maritime landmark for navigation, considering it an essential guide through the waters around Île aux Prunes.

The lighthouse flashes three white signals every 25 seconds and maintains a visibility range of 23 nautical miles for maritime traffic.

Standing at 197 feet, this structure ranks as the twenty-fourth highest traditional lighthouse in the world and guides vessels 16 kilometers from Toamasina.
