Morne Seychellois National Park, national park
Morne Seychellois National Park is a protected natural area on the Seychelles that covers much of the island's mountainous interior. The park consists of dense forests, steep slopes, and several peaks that reach around 900 meters in elevation.
The area was established as a national park in 1979 to protect native vegetation and the forest ecosystem from destruction. This action helped preserve what remained of the island's natural resources.
The park is accessible on foot through several trails that wind through the forest at varying difficulty levels. It's best to come prepared with waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear, as the ground can be wet and slippery.
The park is home to a range of bird species, including endemic varieties found nowhere else but these islands. Birdwatchers have the chance to spot rare species in their natural setting here.
