Air Terjun Jurang Nganten, Natural waterfall in Tanjung Village, Jepara, Indonesia
The water cascades down a steep cliff face for 50 meters, creating white streams that flow through the dense vegetation of Central Java.
The waterfall received its name from a traditional tale about two newlyweds who fell from their buffalo-drawn carriage into the ravine.
Local inhabitants regularly share stories about the white insect manifestation of the bride, connecting natural elements with regional folklore.
Visitors need to walk through narrow paths and cross a river to reach the base of the falls, located 25 kilometers from Jepara city.
At the base of the waterfall stands a large rock formation that locals believe to be the transformed buffalo from the legendary carriage.
