Ubud Monkey Forest

The 12.5-hectare forest contains 1,260 long-tailed macaques living among dense vegetation, ancient stone structures, and three Hindu temples spread across multiple pathways.

The forest grounds include the centuries-old Pura Dalem Agung temple, which served as a spiritual center for Hindu ceremonies and community gatherings since medieval times.

Three Hindu temples within the forest grounds maintain active religious functions, with local residents performing traditional ceremonies and offering rituals throughout the year.

The sanctuary opens daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with entrance fees of 80,000 IDR on weekdays and 100,000 IDR during weekends for adult visitors.

The forest management established an additional forested area in the 1990s specifically to accommodate the growing macaque population and ensure their natural habitat preservation.
