Campuhan Ridge Walk, Hiking trail in Ubud, Indonesia.

The Campuhan Ridge Walk is a hiking trail that runs about 2 kilometers through green hills and valleys, connecting different parts of Ubud together. The path follows natural routes with varying slopes and offers views across forested landscapes on either side.

The ridge path has served as a vital link between villages in the Ubud region since ancient times, enabling trade and exchange between communities. Over time, this traditional route evolved from a practical passage into a popular destination while maintaining its historical importance for local connection.

The path passes near Pura Gunung Lebah Temple, where locals perform traditional rituals year-round that blend spirituality with their daily surroundings. The temple remains a living place of worship where visitors can witness how faith shapes the local community's connection to this landscape.

It is best to start before 8 AM to avoid the strongest heat and have a more pleasant walk. Bring plenty of water and sun protection, especially for the open sections of the path that face direct sun exposure.

The elevation of the ridge creates natural vantage points where hikers can observe both sunrise and sunset over the jungle from the same locations. This height advantage allows visitors to experience the same route at different times of day and discover completely different light conditions and landscape moods each time.
