Kanto lampo, Waterfall in Beng village, Gianyar, Indonesia

Kanto Lampo is a waterfall near Beng village featuring a distinctive stepped rock structure with multiple tiers. The water drops across these natural stone levels, creating a series of cascading pools at different heights.

This waterfall formed after a geological event altered the irrigation channel that had supplied water to local farming areas. The changing water flow gradually carved the tiered rock formation visible today.

Local people treat this waterfall as a sacred place where traditional Balinese ceremonies take place throughout the year. The site holds spiritual meaning for the community and serves as a center for religious observances.

The site is easily accessible on foot with well-marked paths leading to the waterfall and its pools. Wear sturdy footwear since the rocks around the water are wet and slippery most of the time.

A cave across the river served as a hidden shelter for local inhabitants during the colonial period. This natural refuge held importance in the area's local history during that era.
