Pura Dasar Buana Gelgel

Pura Dasar Buana Gelgel features three distinct areas, including an outer sanctum with banyan trees, a middle sanctum with pavilions, and an inner sacred space.

The temple construction occurred in 1267 AD by Mpu Dwijaksara from the Majapahit Kingdom to honor Mpu Ghana, who introduced Hindu teachings in Bali.

The temple's inner sanctum contains twenty shrines, including the eleven-tiered Meru Tumpang Solas dedicated to Satrya Dalem descendants and specific areas for different clans.

The temple holds two major ceremonies annually: Pemacekan Agung during Kuningan and Padudusan during the fourth month's full moon of the Balinese calendar.

The temple stands as the only foundational religious structure in Bali, positioned three kilometers from Semarapura with a precise north-south orientation.
