Penglipuran Village, Traditional village in Bangli, Indonesia.
Penglipuran Village features straight stone pathways, uniform traditional houses with thatched roofs, and a surrounding forest of tall bamboo trees.
The settlement traces its origins to migrants from Bayung Gede Village in Kintamani who established this community approximately 700 years ago under the Bangli Kingdom.
The village layout reflects the Tri Hitakarana philosophy, emphasizing the balance between human relationships, environmental care, and spiritual connections.
Entry fees cost 50,000 Indonesian Rupiah for adults and 30,000 for children, with the village open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Each household maintains identical architectural elements, including traditional gates, house structures, and kitchen positions, creating a harmonious visual pattern throughout the settlement.

Walking routes in Bali traverse rice terraces, waterfalls and temple complexes, offering access to the island's varied landscape and cultural sites. The trails range from the sculpted rice paddies of Tegallalang and Jatiluwih to the clifftop setting of Uluwatu Temple and the volcanic slopes of Mount Batur. Visitors will find a network of paths through traditional villages, water gardens and highland areas. The routes include the rolling rice landscapes of Sidemen Valley, forest trails to Sekumpul and Banyumala waterfalls, and the Campuhan Ridge Walk through Ubud. Many paths connect natural features with cultural landmarks such as Gunung Kawi, Tirta Gangga and the rural village of Penglipuran. The coastal walks of Nusa Penida, including Kelingking Beach and Angel's Billabong, provide access to cliffs and sheltered coves along the shoreline.
