Mengening Temple

Mengening Temple is a Hindu sanctuary in Tampaksiring with traditional stone gateways, several shrines, and sacred springs nestled within tropical gardens. The site is organized around natural water sources that feed the various ritual spaces and surrounding vegetation.

The temple emerged from an era when Balinese communities developed sophisticated water systems to irrigate rice fields while supporting spiritual practices. This blend of agriculture and religion remains visible at the site and has been recognized as part of a protected heritage system.
