Tukad Cepung Waterfall, Waterfall in Bangli, Indonesia

Tukad Cepung is a waterfall flowing through a natural cave formation in Bangli, where water cascades down rock walls into a freshwater pool below. The structure was created by geological processes over centuries that carved layers and shaped this unique setting of stone and flowing water.

Local people have maintained the natural pathways to the waterfall since the early 1900s, preserving access through dense tropical vegetation. This long-term upkeep has allowed generations to keep the area safely accessible.

The site holds spiritual meaning for Balinese people who view water sources as sacred and use them in traditional purification rituals. Visitors can observe how locals interact with the water in ways that reflect deep respect for nature's role in their beliefs.

A short walking path leads from the parking area to the waterfall through the surrounding area, manageable for most visitors. The morning is the best time to visit when light conditions are better and the place feels less crowded.

Between 9 and 11 in the morning, sunlight enters through an opening in the cave ceiling and creates light beams that meet the falling water. This fleeting interplay of light is one reason why visitors return especially during the early hours.
