Brunswick Baths, Public swimming facility in Brunswick, Australia
The Brunswick Baths complex features both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, with a historical brick facade along Dawson Street from 1914.
Constructed in 1914 by architects Peck & Kemter, the facility underwent major renovations in 1927 and again between 2011 and 2013.
In 1931, the baths sparked local debates when introducing mixed-gender swimming sessions, facing opposition from religious institutions and community leaders.
The facility includes a 50-meter outdoor pool, 22-meter indoor pool, spa, sauna, steam room, gymnasium, and dedicated areas for fitness classes.
Endurance swimmer Mercedes Gleitze set a record at Brunswick Baths in 1931, swimming continuously for 44 hours and 30 minutes.
