Brunswick Baths

Brunswick Baths is a public swimming facility featuring indoor and outdoor pools alongside wellness and fitness amenities. The complex houses a 50-meter outdoor pool, 22-meter indoor pool, spa facilities, sauna, steam room, and gymnasium spaces within heritage brick buildings.

The facility was designed and constructed in 1914, then underwent significant renovations during the late 1920s and again in the early 2010s. These restoration projects maintained the original brick character while introducing contemporary amenities and systems.

The baths served as a gathering place where people from across the neighborhood came together for recreation and exercise. Today visitors can see how the facility continues to bring the community together through group classes and social swimming.

The facility sits along Dawson Street and is accessible for swimmers of different abilities and ages. It is worth checking ahead as different pools are sometimes reserved for training sessions or specific programs throughout the week.

A remarkable long-distance swimming record was set here in 1931 when an athlete swam continuously for over 44 hours without stopping. This achievement brought international attention to the facility and its role in endurance swimming history.
