Mount Beenak, Mountain summit in Yarra Ranges, Australia
Mount Beenak is a summit in the Yarra Ranges of southeastern Victoria that rises 745 meters above sea level. It sits within the Great Dividing Range and commands views across the surrounding mountainous terrain.
The summit underwent significant forest clearing operations in July 2013 that removed substantial tree cover from the peak area. This logging activity reshaped the vegetation and the way the mountain appears to visitors today.
The mountain forms part of the traditional territories where indigenous communities maintained connections to the Victorian mountainous regions.
The summit is reached via a gated fire access track that starts from Mount Beenak Road with parking available at marked spots. The route is straightforward and parking areas are clearly signed for visitor convenience.
The mountain ranks as the thirteenth most prominent peak among 78 mountains within the Shire of Yarra Ranges territory.
