Mount Donna Buang, Mountain summit in Yarra Ranges National Park, Australia
Mount Donna Buang is a 1,250-meter peak in Yarra Ranges National Park featuring a 21-meter observation tower at the top. The tower offers views across Melbourne, the Yarra Valley, and the Victorian Alps.
The mountain was originally named Mount Acland in 1860 but eventually adopted its current Aboriginal name. The name means 'the body of the mountain' in the Wurundjeri language.
The mountain holds deep meaning for the Wurundjeri people as a connection to their land and heritage. Visitors can feel this significance while walking through the surroundings.
Winter visitors can enjoy snow activities from June to September in designated areas near the summit for sledding and play. The clearly marked trails make exploration easy when weather permits.
The Rainforest Gallery includes a 40-meter elevated walkway through the canopy of native Mountain Ash trees. This raised path gives an unusual perspective on the rainforest normally hidden from view.
