Palace Hotel, Broken Hill, Heritage hotel in Argent Street, Broken Hill, Australia

The Palace Hotel spans three floors with a prominent corner location, featuring Renaissance-inspired murals and fantasy Australian landscapes on its interior walls.

Originally opened as a coffee palace in 1889, the establishment transformed into the Palace Hotel in 1892 after obtaining a liquor license.

The hotel gained national recognition through its appearance in the 1994 film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert as a key filming location.

The accommodation offers various room types, from themed en-suite accommodations to traditional pub-style rooms, with prices starting at 70 Australian dollars.

Indigenous artist Gordon Waye created extensive murals throughout the building, combining Renaissance art with Australian landscape elements on the walls and ceilings.
