North Sydney Technical High School

North Sydney Technical High School at Blue Street was a school building made from Hawkesbury sandstone with Gothic Revival features and a distinctive bell tower. The structure shows typical technical and artistic details of that era and now operates as a hospitality venue.

The school started in 1876 as a Presbyterian religious school and later became a state-run technical institution. Operations ended in 1969, after which the spaces were adapted for other uses.

The building once served as a gathering place for students and teachers from across the region, shaping school life on the lower North Shore. Today its spaces still reflect that past and tell the story of those who learned and taught here.

The site is located on Blue Street and can be viewed from the outside. The architecture is clearly visible from the sidewalks, and the bell tower serves as an easy-to-spot landmark.
