Lang Park, Multi-purpose sports stadium in Milton, Brisbane, Australia
Lang Park is a multi-purpose stadium in Milton, a suburb of Brisbane, built on a rectangular footprint. The facility includes three covered tiers with a total of 52,500 seats and features a continuous roof structure made of steel and polycarbonate.
The sports ground opened in 1914 on a former burial site and initially served rugby and cricket matches. A complete redevelopment between 2001 and 2003 transformed the facility into a modern stadium with an enclosed roof.
The pitch hosts the state's most important rugby matches and displays bronze sculptures of local sports legends at the entrance. Supporters traditionally wear their team colors on game days and fill the stands with chants and call-and-response songs.
Milton and Roma Street railway stations are within walking distance, while special buses run directly to the entrance on event days. Visitors arriving early can explore the surrounding cafés and sports bars in the neighborhood.
The playing surface has remained in the same location for over a century, making this one of Australia's longest continuously used sports grounds. The original turf area was never relocated, not even during the major reconstruction works in the early 2000s.
