The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Brisbane is a two-storey masonry building at 273 North Quay, on the western end of Brisbane's central business district. Designed by the Brisbane firm Lucas and Cummings, Architects, it was built in 1940 as an intact example of their modernist design. In 1950 it received the RAIA Queensland Chapter Medal for Meritorious Architecture for Institutional Buildings erected in Brisbane between 1940 and 1949.

The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Brisbane was built in 1940 to designs by the Brisbane firm Lucas and Cummings, Architects, after the congregation bought two North Quay allotments with houses on them in 1939. In 1950 the Queensland Chapter of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects awarded it the Medal for Meritorious Architecture for Institutional Buildings erected in Brisbane between 1940 and 1949. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 11 March 2016.

Christian Science reached Brisbane in the 1890s, when small groups met in private homes such as Mrs Eliza Caroline Dutton's before September 1899. The congregation formed as First Church of Christ, Scientist, Brisbane in December 1901, with Mrs Helen Scott Byrne as First Reader and J. H. Granger as Second Reader. Services are led by two elected readers rather than clergy, and a reading room gives the public information about Christian Science.

The church stands at 273 North Quay, at the western end of Brisbane's central business district, near the river and the Grey Street Bridge approaches. It remains in use by its congregation, so visits are tied to services, testimony meetings, the Sunday School and the reading room where information on Christian Science is available to the public.
