Santos Place, Green office skyscraper in Brisbane, Australia
Santos Place is an office tower with 38 floors that rises 150 meters above the Brisbane skyline. The structure uses glass and steel with double-glazed windows and external sun protection systems across all facades.
Construction started in 2007 under the name Northbridge and the building received its current name when Santos company acquired naming rights in 2009. This renaming marked a shift in the tower's identity and importance to the city.
The building connects the Gallery of Modern Art and South Bank cultural district through the Kurilpa Bridge, creating a natural link between the business district and the city's arts venues. Visitors walking through this area notice how the tower serves as a passage between commercial and cultural spaces.
The tower has 17 elevators and provides direct access to Roma Street railway station and Brisbane's Busway system. Its location near public transport makes it easily accessible from different parts of the city.
The building holds the record as Australia's largest structure to achieve a 6-star green building rating. This was accomplished through rainwater collection and trigeneration systems that significantly reduce energy consumption.
