The legal complex, constructed in 1993 at a cost of 130 million Australian dollars, was designed by architect John Grealy with Australian Construction Services.
The building bears the name of Sir Harry Gibbs, a former Chief Justice of Australia who made substantial contributions to the national legal system.
The facility houses multiple judicial institutions, including the Federal Court of Australia, Family Court, and Federal Circuit Court, serving Queensland residents.
A 25-meter wide ceremonial stairway leads to an eight-story atrium, forming the grand entrance facing North Quay in Brisbane's central district.
