Boothville House

Boothville House is a two-story brick residence on a large property with decorative timber joinery, leadlight windows, and ornate fireplaces throughout the building. The original U-shaped floor plan includes a service wing and is surrounded by established trees.

The house was built between 1887 and 1888 for a Queensland National Bank manager and represents the affluent residential architecture of that period. From 1924 to 1994 it served as a maternity hospital, which changed its importance across several generations.

The residence shows how wealthy families lived in Brisbane during the late 1800s and what architectural features they valued for their homes. The crafted details like leadlight windows and ornate fireplaces reflect the taste and lifestyle of that era.

The house is located in Windsor with established trees and spacious grounds that set it apart from street activity. Transport access and its position in the northern suburbs make it reachable from various directions.

Inside is a grand reception room with intricate plaster cornices that preserves the finer details of the original interior. A historic well on the grounds is a reminder of how the family accessed water in its early years.
