Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church

Our Lady of Victories Church is a Catholic place of worship in Bowen Hills featuring a 27 meter (89 ft) tower topped with an illuminated Latin cross. Inside, a marble altar and decorative stained glass windows display the Spanish Mission style throughout the building.

The foundation stone was placed in 1919 by Bishop Bartolomeo Cattaneo, with the building consecrated in 1925 by Archbishop James Duhig. It was built as a war memorial for local Catholic communities.

Since 1955, this place has served as a spiritual center for Brisbane's Polish community. Services held in both English and Polish reflect the deep connection many locals feel to this community space.

The building sits on Cintra Road in Bowen Hills and is straightforward to find. Being a registered heritage site, it is best visited during regular opening hours when the space is accessible to visitors.

Inside is a memorial plaque honoring Polish prisoners of war, which shows the deep historical connection to the Polish community. The windows also display the Australian rising sun symbol, a meaningful detail tied to the country's military past.
