Jubilee Hotel

The Jubilee Hotel is a two-story hospitality building with basement spaces, designed with classical architectural elements and ornate street facades. The complex maintains its original function while a beer garden in the rear provides additional guest amenities.

The building rose between 1887 and 1888 for brewer William Gooley, reflecting Queensland's economic expansion during that decade. Its construction coincided with the period when Fortitude Valley emerged as a major commercial and industrial hub for the region.

The ground floor public bar displays the traditional layout of 19th century Australian hotels, with its distinctive setup that welcomes guests through ornate double doors from the central hallway. This room shows how travelers and locals spent their evenings in such establishments.
