Construction of the structure was completed in 1972, marking an early addition to Brisbane's growing central business district during the city's commercial development phase.
Central Queensland University established its Brisbane campus within the building in 2011, transforming part of the commercial space into an educational center.
The building houses multiple organizations including the Department of Health, Glencore Technology, and Suncorp Corporate Services across its numerous floors.
A 2009 International Energy Agency study selected this building to analyze characteristics typical of Australian high-rise office structures.
