WhiteWater World, Water park in Gold Coast, Australia
WhiteWater World is a water park next to Dreamworld in Gold Coast with sixteen water slides and a wave pool. The venue also includes dedicated areas for children and spreads across a large site with paths connecting each attraction.
The park opened on December 8, 2006, following a large investment and was designed as an expansion to the neighboring Dreamworld. Since then, several new water attractions have been added, broadening the original offering.
The name refers to the white foam of breaking waves, which visitors can experience on many of the rides here. The design follows a tropical theme with palm trees and colors that recall Australia's beach culture.
The visit works best on sunny days when the weather is warm enough and the attractions can be fully enjoyed. Visitors should bring sun protection and swimwear as many areas are open to the sky.
One of the attractions uses magnetic technology to push boats uphill rather than just letting them slide down. This system combines elements of a water slide with those of a roller coaster and creates a surprising ride experience.
