Dreamworld Cinema, Movie theater in Gold Coast, Australia
Dreamworld Cinema was a movie theater located within Dreamworld theme park on the Gold Coast, seating 315 visitors in tiered rows positioned below ground level. The large screen measured approximately 21 by 11 meters and showed various films throughout regular park hours.
The cinema opened in January 2011 following renovations of the former IMAX Theatre and operated film screenings until February 2018. It was subsequently transformed into the Sky Voyager attraction.
The cinema screened diverse films including The Curse of Skull Rock during park hours and special presentations of Tron: Legacy and Megamind after regular operation times.
Visitors accessed the cinema through a ground-level foyer and it was included as part of regular Dreamworld admission. This allowed guests to combine movie entertainment with other theme park activities.
The facility used RealD Cinema technology for 3D film projection, representing a technological step forward from its previous IMAX format. This made the cinema a modern viewing experience within Queensland's largest theme park.
