Hot Wheels SideWinder, Steel roller coaster at Dreamworld in Coomera, Australia.
Hot Wheels SideWinder is a steel roller coaster at Dreamworld that stretches 900 meters with an aqua-colored track and white supports. The ride features two inversions, including a reverse sidewinder element and a vertical loop that creates rapid turns and steep angles.
The coaster first opened as Big Dipper at Luna Park Sydney in 1995 before relocating to Dreamworld in 2001, where it was renamed Cyclone. In 2015, it received a complete theming overhaul with Hot Wheels branding, new trains, and an audio system.
The attraction incorporates Australian motorsports elements through partnerships with V8 Supercars and Dunlop, accompanied by a dedicated museum and racing simulators.
Riders must meet height requirements between 120 and 205 centimeters, with trains accommodating about 24 passengers per cycle. The 85 kilometers per hour speed and tightly designed course make this a vigorous ride that may not suit guests seeking gentler experiences.
The trains are designed to resemble racing cars and feature an onboard audio system that plays engine sounds and music during the ride. These design details transform the experience into an immersive motorsport adventure with sonic accompaniment.
