Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster, Steel roller coaster in Warner Bros Movie World, Gold Coast, Australia.
Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster is a steel roller coaster inside Warner Bros Movie World on the Gold Coast in Queensland. The track runs for 530 meters through a dark building with tight curves, sudden drops, and a vertical lift that reaches up to 17 meters (56 feet) high.
The attraction opened in June 2002 and replaced an earlier ride through film classics. In 2018, it received a major overhaul with new special effects and modernized technology.
The name comes from the popular American cartoon series that has entertained children and adults for decades. Visitors encounter familiar characters such as Shaggy and the talking Great Dane, represented through moving models.
Visitors must be at least 110 centimeters (43 inches) tall to ride. The experience lasts about 4 minutes and reaches speeds of around 45 kilometers per hour (28 miles per hour).
The car travels backward into darkness at one point, surprising many riders. Projection technology and smoke effects transform the interior into changing scenes from the film world.
