Warner Bros. Movie World, Theme park in Gold Coast, Australia
Warner Bros. Movie World is an amusement park on the Gold Coast in Queensland with several themed areas based on well-known films and television series. The site covers a large area with different rides, shows, and meeting points for visitors of all ages.
The site opened in 1991 as Australia's first leisure destination focused on film productions, using parts of a former studio complex. Collaboration between a local company and an American studio enabled access to characters and stories from numerous productions.
The park's name reflects its direct link to the film studio, visible in the costumes worn by staff and the facades along the main street. Visitors regularly encounter characters from comic adaptations and animated films who pose for photos and interact with children.
Most attractions are concentrated near the entrance areas, while quieter zones for smaller children are located further back on the site. On hot days, covered waiting areas and air-conditioned indoor spaces provide shelter from the sun.
Some rides use reconstructed film sets that were created after shooting for cinema productions and later adapted for visitors. Several demonstrations show live how scenes are filmed and which techniques are used in action sequences.
